We couldn’t get BBC on the fm-radio, instead we listened long times to John Peel via ‘BFBS’ which was a uk-army radio station at some cold-war english army base in germany… God how i remember fine-tuning that dial for the weak reception, skills that no punk would need anymore…

Peel Sessions were reason 582 for listening to Uncle John. They were pivotal in my musical progression and development. The Fall and Misty In Roots sessions have been the jumping off point for the majority of where I've been musically for the last 40 years. The most important non-musician in music history IMO.

Oh and I remember listening to this Joy Division one at the time. One of my great regrets in never seeing them live. I saw pretty much everyone else it seemed, but this one is a big gap.
